Gentlemen,
We are at a very unique club that doesn’t require tee times. As you can imagine, scheduling the amount of caddies to cover a day has its challenges. Factors such as the unknown amount of players, whether they want to walk or ride, cart access due to course conditions, caddie’s physical ability, and pairing up personalities all play a major factor in assigning loops. We must cover every group that goes out between 9:00-2:00. Depending on the flow of the day, there will be days you will get right out, and there will be days where you have to sit and wait. This unfortunately is part of the caddie game. It happens at every property in the country. My number one goal everyday is to get everyone scheduled a loop. Please know that we must protect the business and have additional caddies report, especially with our unique circumstances.
What we don’t want to start is that the venting and complaining when things might not go your way. This is the reason for the rotational schedule, to keep things fair and equitable for all. At no time, you cannot just leave without seeing a manager. This will result in a write-up going forward as you will be breaching your contract (not fulfilling your availability). 3 write-ups can result in a disengagement, that is, lose your job. This affects the morale of the entire team and Taylor and I refuse to have bad morale in our shack.
Our October and November were off the charts, and those with good availability really reaped the rewards financially of the hard work and dedication you bring to the program. Personally, I have gained a new family in you guys and that is what I am most proud of in my short time here. Let’s keep this train-a-rolling and perfect our craft to provide the membership with world-class service. EVERYDAY, not sometimes. We must be relentless in our pursuit toward improvement EVERYDAY, not sometimes. Thanks for all you do!
Enjoy your Monday off. I know I will.
-Eric and Taylor
